I have a question, and as I have seen on video, that you "mister wizard" connected 6D to tablet.. I am interested in what way did you manage to do it ?
I turn on my camera, turn on wifi, on tablet I connect to my camera, and its all good
its connected.. but what then.. on my tablet, still nothing and it stays the same screen , asking me a way to look / connect to camera
what am I doing wrong or what did I do wrong ?
as I remember in your video you said that you connected it and that it has a range of 20 meters on wifi from cammera.. did you still use router or just camera and tablet ?
I'm having the same issue. I'm using the Canon 6D and attempting to pair with an LG G Pad (android) tablet via wifi. I'm able to establish a connection from my tablet to my 6D's wifi, but the app doesn't seem to recognize the camera (No live view, no camera controls, only the black screen with the dslrdashboard settings button).
However, I was able to establish a hard wire connection via OTG to USB--and it worked great, but I'd like to be able to use the wifi as well.
EDIT: I was able to pair the camera with Canon's "eos remote" app via wifi so I know a wifi connection is possible. I'm just having trouble doing it with dslrdashboard.
You have rooted your tablet ?
Did you install this new last version of software or ?
I can install that one, and that my problem I guess, because I dont have that Canon WTF button
managed to get my both cameras working via USB OTG, after few hours of rooting, restarting and everything humanly possible
but still cant see WFT option in my tablet
I have Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite
Android version 4.0.3
rooted
Hey guys,
looks like you use an old version of dslrdashboard (looks like that in the posted screenshot). Did you download it in the Google App Store? Because this version is no more longer maintained.
Right now there is a new Version 0.3. on
qDSLRDashboard.
Regards,
Chris
Some clarifications: you don't need to root the android device in order to use qDslrDashboard.
And yes, don't use the version from the play store, use the latest one from
http://dslrdashboard.info
Thank you for answer
I know that there is new version, and that is my main problem now
First I did install that version from google play store or whatever
, and after taht I did see there is this new version available, but
every time I download it
install it it
run in
and then nothing happens.. application just crashes or stands at black screen and thats it
only working version is old one, from google store

this is what is says on his website:
Android – on Android devices the application will use the USB host API if present for USB access. If your Android device does not have the USB host API or it is not working you can try and enable the “Use ‘root’ for USB access” in Application settings and try again. This will only work if your Android device is ‘rooted’
that is why I had to root my tablet, but its all ok , and managed it, now I can use it with USB OTG.. just to figure out how to install this new version and it would be perfect
even tried to download it on my pc.. transfer it to tablet, and then start it.. but still nothing.. it would not start.. just black screen and thats it
I guess there is something wrong, with aplication or just my tablet.. I am no expert so I cant say
