Hello friends:
I am new at this technique and I would like to know if there is any slider to start, as the current used in the forum are quite expensive for me.

A hug from Spain.
Check out the Pocketslider, maybe that suits you.
Thank you very much for your answer as fast Gunther, I'll study right away.
I also found the famous TP_Link MR3040, thanks to my daughter who lives in UK. I'm already nervous waiting for the arrival for practice.
A hug from Spain, cloudless now!
No me digas que estas en Granada , I was there for 11 days last friday and from the 9 to the 14 of May it did nothing but rain, the last 6 days were glorious sunshine. Any way you need clouds to give some kind of movement.   ( pero no lluvia  ja ja ja ).

Saludos desde UK.

Rodrigo
Hola abejarutas.

Do you need several axes or only 1?
The best cheap option I know is the zenslider.
To start I made one DIY that made good trick.
Gracias Santi:

Thanks Santi:

Just I saw it and loved it, but I still see very high prices.

These days I'm looking materials, if I have questions I'll take your word.

Thank you very much for sparing your time.
Hola Jesus,

Saludos.

Here is a url http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/v-slot%...crew.1393/  where you can obtain the parts to build your own slider, it come in different sizes, the only problem I see with it is the power supply, it is DC but it requires a transformer to plug into the mains, if someone manages to work out a battery operated motor with sufficient torque to pull at least 6 kg to make portable please let me know.

Regards,

Rodrigo
Muchas gracias Rodrigo:

Thank you very much Rodrigo:

I'm already seeing the link and the prices seem to be accessible. Thank you all, and I will tell my final decision.
http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/v-slot%...-build.48/

http://openbuildspartstore.com/v-slot-ne...ead-screw/

Hello everyone:

Finally my best option for about 170 € and a length of 1500 mm:
http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/v-slot%...-build.48/

The question is whether the engine and the platform would be too small for the Canon EOS 40D.

My second choice, for about 200 € and a length of 1000 mm:
http://openbuildspartstore.com/v-slot-ne...ead-screw/

A little more expensive, but it is more robust linear axis but only measures 1000 mm.

I have trouble making a decision, can anyone help ?.
Thanks in advance for your time.
Hola Jesus,

Saludos,

Rodrigo

I am in the same boat, I can't make my mind up as to which model to get, but there again, I ask myself do I really need it, how many times am I going to use it?, for me it is only a hobby, I am not making a living out of it, it would be nice to have one but not at 1.5 mtr as it would be a bit large and cumbersome, adding weight to the rest of the photographic equipment. Also in certain places can't use tripods for fear of somebody getting injured. Things to consider really is the torque of the motor and the power consumption as the heavier the equipment , ie camera and lens, the more power it will require to move it.

regards,

Rodrigo
