I have found that when using the Canon TC-80N3 as an intervalometer with the Canon 7D Mk II, you will not get an image preview on the camera so you can check the histogram for exposure. Also, you can not change the ISO value unless you stop the timer then re-start. Maybe some of you can tell me what timer you are using? I am not ready to use qdslr dashboard yet, I want to learn to change the exposure manually first.
