Hi, I use Alpine Pulse, I'm really pleased with it, the handicap it has it is the short life battery span, and that you can't set a start and finish time, otherwise really please with it. What's your question/ problem?.
Regards,
Rodrigo
Hi, I do use the pulse. It's ok for normal time-lapse. but you want to do the exposure ramping then it's useless.
Try timelapse+ view

hi Deepeshdotcom,
thank you .... while i am using the PULSE for day to night to MW time-lapse, i had to baby sit by my camera for 6-8hrs and constantly changing settings.
I am still reading up on the VIEW ... is it easy to use?

With the View you can set it up and forget . It's very easy solution for day to night or vice versa.

I am still trying to understand more about the bulb ramping function ...
It's not bulb ramping that you would be using. It's exposure/iso/aperture ramping. It's the same approach as with qDslrDashboard. You can find tons of infos here. Check out my tutorial page, specifically the tab “shooting the holy grail“.

Can you please elaborate on why it is useless for this purpose?
From the
Pulse product page:
Quote:Pulse's Exposure Ramping features allows you to ramp your ISO and shutter speed so that you can capture day-to-night transitions (the "Holy Grail" of time lapses)
I got into timelapse less than a year ago, and find it very fun (and challenging) to pursue the Holy Grail.. However, as mentioned previously in this thread, "babysitting" the camera gets tedious (especially here in Norway with our fall & winter temperatures), and I've also messed up many lapses because of camera movement. Very annoying.
qDslrDashboard is cool with its "Auto Holy Grail" feautre, but I'd really like to get its functionality encapsulated in a single device, so that I won't have to rely on wifi connection, my smartphone and all the challenges that come with it.
Timelapse+ VIEW looks like the answer, but for the price ($400) I'd rather spend my money on glass ;
So, I thought the Pulse was what I'm looking for, until I saw this thread
Keen on hearing alternative suggestions too!
Thanks
hi
I am using PULSE for awhile now and it is quite a reliable gadget that allows you to remote adjust your settings without having to touch the body.
There is a "Exposure Ramping" function which you need to at least re-visit the same spot for 2-3 times to understand the start and end of the exposure setting.
For now i am still relying on manually changing my ISO and shutter speed via PULSE.
I have just ordered the VIEW+ and was guaranteed to ship in two weeks ....
VIEW+ is a fully automated gadget that take and analyse each images and make change .... fully automatic
It is convenient for traveler like me that does not gets to re-visit same spot during my trip.
