Issue when deleting images - lightatwork - 2024-11-06
Hi Gunther,
Using 7.2 beta 3 I run into some issues while performing some basic operations on files in sequences such as deleting and moving.
For the moving issue, I don't currently have a log file, but for the deleting I have.
The symptoms are: When deleting a file, the progress bar for deleting that image is created, but never completes and never dissappears. I can only restart the program to solve this. I will send you the log file by email.
In the same set of sequences, I wanted to move a large section of a sequence (3000 images) to a different folder in the same level. I got an error message saying that there was an error moving the files, but I forgot to save the log file. If there is a place where old log files are stored, i can check.

Hi Jorrit, thanks for reporting.
The error indicates that the new way of deleting in 7.2 (which is to move to trash instead of fully delete), doesn't seem to work on your system.
That's strange, because I'm testing a lot on mac (ARM) here, and cannot reproduce this. The only difference is, that I'm on the latest mac OS while yours is a bit outdated already.
I will try a different approach in the next beta and add some more debugging, until then, you could deactivate the "Move to trash" feature in the settings, if you want.
Please observe the "Move" issue - that could be something else, if you can reproduce it, please send me the log!

I'll consider updating the OS. For now, deactivating "Delete via recycle bin" seems to work.
