A Timelapse in One Image (1st Test at this Idea) - Rudolph - 2013-05-27

Hi everyone,
A few weeks ago I thought it would be interesting to try and create a timelapse within one picture/pano. Yesterday I attempted to create a fairly good workflow to achieve the effect. This is a pano containing 37 images over about a 2 hour period (started 1 hour before sunset and ended 1 hour after sunset). I changed the ISO near sunset and followed the “holy grail” workflow in LRTimelapse to smooth the ISO bump. I moved the camera manually by about 3 degrees for each picture. My interval was a 25 second exposure (I had a 10 stop ND filter on the lens) every 2 minutes. It still needs a little bit of work in post, but I thought it was a good first try. If you would like to see the picture as a high resolution jpg click here to download it: https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D8532892_61491024_699025

Please let me know your thoughts and opinions about this idea. If there is enough interest, I could post the workflow that I thought up.

Rudolph

I thought about doing that for a while, but kind of gave up after I saw that I wouldn't be able to do better than Stephen Wilkes: http://www.stephenwilkes.com/fine-art-gallery.php?g=7t=fineart

I'd say his choice of NYC subjects help a lot, as for natural scenes, it kinds of gets dark at night :-)
