Lightroom Image Update Question - EthanTweedie - 2013-08-26

Gunther,

I am wondering if it is just the amount of files or my computer is slow etc, I have no reference point but once I hit read metadata it takes a long time for those changes to update in LR.

Is there a way to force it to render faster?

Ethan

Read metadata is not rendering. There are some things to consider:
- JPGs will take longe as RAW-Files because for JPGs the XMPs will be embedded into the files
- Use a fast Harddrive/SSD for the sequence you are working on, not a network drive
- In general time lapse processing and rendering will benefit from a fast computer.

I guess this is just something to live with?

I am editing off a drobo 5D with SSD acceleration. 16GBs of RAM etc.
