Between Gunter and Zoltan, you guys are brilliant. For a non techie person like me trying to get this working using VMWare on a MacBookPro to get the TL MR3040 wireless I am very pleased. Especially as I invested in the Nexus7 too!!
Two things you could put in your instructions are
1. Something about the 3 way switch (I am using the TP Link v2.2). Didn't work to start with but I think the middle setting is where it should be and
2. I added the Wifi in the network tab, but ended up with two. When I deleted one the set up started working.

thank you for the feedback. I think the switch does not matter with Open WRT. I have it on AP.
