Mirror lockup - rodrigo - 2016-02-08

This may be an stupid question but I would ask it anyway, can i shoot a panolapse with the mirror lockup activated?, to avoid camera shake as the mirror lifts every time it takes a shot?

kind regards,

Rodrigo

Unfortunately with most cameras this does not work out of the box.

If you are shooting Nikon (probably Canon has it as well) there is a shutter delay option that you can set for 1 or 2 seconds. You just need to remember to add that time to your intervalometer.

A side note, just in case you are doing star trails, avoid using the delay if you are not shooting ultrawide, because then (over 35mm) you will get gaps between stars and then you will be really sad as I was. Cheers!

Yes, but this will only delay the shutter, but not keep the mirror up.
