Buy used Revolve slider or afford a new one? - Krimolvig - 2016-11-12 Hi, Im seeking advices from the best guys in the field: I do not own an cam slider, but I realy like to get one. Now I have the opportunety to buy an Revolve dolly bundly for a low cost, about € 200. I've tryed this dolly for some time and noticed some downsided: - It's quite a pain in the ass to assembly. Because of the cases I need to deassembly it everytime to cary it around. - There is no rotation axis. - The controller is primitive, theres no display to plan the sliding. Just an left- or right button and a speed wheel. - There is no shoot-move-shoot mode, the slider slides independent of the exposures. I do not afford to buy an new one at this time, I probably have to wait a year or two. So do you think it's wast of money to buy this now, and buy a better one when I can afford it? And what do you think of the downsides, will this limit me a lot in the timelapse-photographing? Thanks, Kristoffer RE: Buy used Revolve slider or afford a new one? - crdeantonio - 2016-11-12 My opinion is that this would be a wasted purchase. It looks like a crappy build, doesn't do shoot-move-shoot (SMS) and only one axis of motion. I don't think it's worth it. Might as well save that money. |
