preview - something wrong - please help! - gianlucacolla - 2016-11-20

Hi there, after installing LRT 4.7.3 I have serious problems.
As you can see in the attached screenshot, it tells me preview can not be loaded. This happens regardless the raw file in the folder (Fuji Raf, Canon CR2, Panasonic RW2, etc)
It also looks like it has issues with XMP files, as files names on the right column do not have the underscore symbol in front displayed by LRT, and if you look in the preview window looks like only half of the image have a brightness value.

I did export time lapses from the same folders using previous versions of LRT, so I wonder if it is a bug in LRT? I did work perfectly until I did the update to the latest version.

Any help is highly appreciated as I am on a tight deadline to deliver work to a client and I am literally stuck!

Thanks!
Gianluca

RE: preview - something wrong - please help! - Gunther - 2016-11-20

Do you probably have an older version of LRTimelapse 3 or 2 still installed? Make sure to uninstall that, then try again. Try reinstalling LRT 4.7.3 after.
Make sure to have the latest Adobe DNG Converter installed (see http://lrtimelapse.com/install )
If your problems persist, I'd like to see your log file after this happens. Please load a folder then go to the info menu/show log. Send me the log file.

thank you for your prompt reply!

I do already have LRT 4.7.3 installed, and the DNG converter is the latest 9.7. I did reinstall LRT twice to make sure it is not an installation issue, but it gives me the same error. As mentioned previously, it is apparently irrelevant what folder with images and what camera Raws are shot with, it gives me the same error with 3 different camera type and manufacturer. Also, the very same folders I can not display now I did work with no issues a few months back.

RE: preview - something wrong - please help! - gianlucacolla - 2016-11-20

sorry for the long reply, I accidentally left all the log lines.
I re edited the post now omitting log lines for files 015 to 425. Thanks

RE: preview - something wrong - please help! - Gunther - 2016-11-20

The names of the files in that directory beginn with a . (dot) those are normally system files that cannot be read. Maybe another software created those. I guess in the finder they will be hidden by default. Please check the contents of that directory and leave only the real image files (names should not begin with a dot).
If you renamed the image files with the leading dot, please change that back.

Weird fact there are no files with that name inside the directory.
There are the raw files and relative XMP files. I tried to put apart the XMP files but it gives me the same result. It looks like it is a XMP misinterpretation. This is how the directory is in the finder:

RE: preview - something wrong - please help! - gianlucacolla - 2016-11-20

Also, in the preview window it only display half of the graph:

RE: preview - something wrong - please help! - Gunther - 2016-11-20

Those dot files are hidden in finder. Just select them in LRTimelapse then right click and choose delete. You don't need them. After that the blue line will be complete and everything alright again.
