How much de-flicker should be used - ssmith - 2017-12-11

I captured this TL with a Canon 550D , 18-55 kit lens , at F/16 and using A-ETTR from magic lantern , RAW , daylight WB , 15 sec interval. I did not disconnect the lens contacts.
I used visual deflicker ~8. I still see some flicker in the pre-view. Should I refine or finish the video and check the flicker again?

Attached screen shot.

For a sequence like that that has much movement in the water (next time use a ND filter!!) you should set a reference area for the deflicker to the sky. Just click and drag a rectangle over the sky to set the reference area.
Then refine your deflicker. If the sky doesn't flicker anymore when playing back you are good to go and can output the video. Otherwise just do another refine step. Normally you shouldn't have to do more then 2 refine steps.

I drew the rectangle on the sky to refine the flicker. It did make the flicker less.
Thanks
