Hey guys,

Ummm, what would the best way to de-flicker this time-lapse? I've done a few now and tried a couple of different ways.

A:
Manually adjust each keyframe at the top and bottom of every dip

B:
Let the de-flicker function take care of it

Now, A usually has the best outcome, B doesn't seem to do much at all, I may be doing somehting wrong?

But when it comes to editing something like this:

What's the best/quickest solution to smoothing out all those bumps and keep the same colour balance?

The fist question I have is: why are there so much teeth in the curve? Did you really adjust manually so often? This will be a whole lot of work to smooth that out. So I would try taking care of those things when shooting. If you do it right, you won't have to deal with such complicated editings afterwards. Check out my Ebook for the right shooting technique.

For the approach: I would try the deflicker algorithm, it's faster, you might have to use a 2 step deflickering. Another way would be to smooth out every "tooth" with the holy grail approach - this could give you better results but will take a lot of time.

I'm using Magic Lantern's Intervelometer on the sunset setting, but still figuring out the best setting for sunset/sunrise time-lapses. How does the 2 step deflicker work?

Hi, I can only warn you from using bulp ramping. In my opinion it causes more trouble than it helps.
