LRTimelapse 2 won't open on Windows 7

Hello,
When opening LRT2 from the Start menu of my Windows 7 computer, the load screen of the milky way time lapse appears for about 5 seconds, but the program crashes abruptly as soon as the the LRT2 logo appears on the screen.

LRT2 was working a few weeks ago when I last used it. Anyone else experience this problem?

Any insight or tips would be much appreciated.

Hi Andrew,
please install the latest version from http://lrtimelapse.com - there was a date-bug.
Thank you!

Gunther, I to am experiencing the same problem on Win 7 (64). Went to use my LRTL ver 2.2.1 which worked before and about 5 sec into the load up screen it freezes and will not load further. The launch screen stays on my desktop yet the program doesn't even list under the Win task manager applications page but it does list under running processes.

I tried reinstalling it and the installer wouldn't let me citing an existing version was already installed so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the web site. This did NOT fix the problem.

Using ver 2.2.1

Have you tried relaunching your windows? I don't know what could have gone wrong there, but if you relaunch windows you should be able to uninstall LRTimelapse and reinstall if the installation got somewhat corrupted.

Actually, uninstalled LRTL then shutdown the computer then relaunced win7 and reinstalled ver 2.2.1 and I get the same error. Then I tried the same thing with an older version of LRTL (ver 2.0) and when I tried to launch that it also freezes at the same load up screen. Could this perhaps be a Java thing? Haven't tried anything with Java yet.

Checked my system and I had Java 7 update 9. I uninstalled it and reinstalled ver 7 upate 11. Then I reinstalled LRTL 2.2.1.

All works now.
