A few days ago, I made a Hackintosh computer with my over five years old PC.
My iMac and Hackintosh are both connected to a Gigabit router. So, file transmission between those two computers are fast.
Mostly, Hackintosh plays the role of NAS. LR, LRT, After Effect, FCPX are running on iMac.

"TimeLapse" is the name of a disk drive in Hackintosh. It just looks like other internal SSD("1TB SSD") or external USB3 HDD ("Seagate" and "Media"). When working with photos stored in "TimeLapse", that is in Hackintosh, I could feel any slow performance.

I copied Raw files from Canon 5D3 and 6D to Hackintosh.
Everything goes well before Visual Previews.
After running auto transition and saving the result, I press "Visual Previews" button.
Then, I see missing Visual Preview as below.

This happens almost all cases. I tried to "auto transition" and "Visual Previews" again and again but the result is same.


I cannot generate visual previews for only missing frames.

Once this happens, "Visual Deflicker" buttons is disabled.

Hope there is any solution for this issue.

What happens if you select one of those images without visual preview?
Can you check the log? (info / log)

Since this seem to be a problem with your system I'm not sure if I can help. It's definitely no problem of LRTimelapse. I use some Mac Virtual Machines here too under Windows and don't get such problems. Maybe it's something with the network access.

I checked log and found that following errors and warnings are logged for each missing Visual Previews.

Do you these can happen if my iMac and hackintosh don't transfer data to and from each other?


If I choose an image without Visual Preview, it shows just a preview image.

It is likely that the issue is solved.
I changed file sharing option in MacOS from SMB to AFP.
After changing to AFP, missing Visual Preview didn't occur.

The issue starts with ExifTool error. Could this result from corrupt 5D3_4350.dng whose file size is 0?

yes, if the dng is corrupt LRT cannot extract the preview.
The is an option to delete all LRTimelapse editing and previews, when you right click on a folder in the tree. Just try doing that then start over with the sequence.
