Unable to remove flickering

Hi,

Recently I have encounter issue of unable to remove flickering on some of my timelapse.

These timelapse are shot during sunrise, sunset, or from dusk to dark time, all are taken in aperture peiroty mode, not using manual exposure mode is because it will have camera movment if I change the exposure setting during the shooting.

Prevoisuely I have not much problems of removing flickering, but lately I have no sucess at all.

Here is a laterest try, the 7th attamp post processing of the same timelapse, it shot in NEF and I only change the exposure of the last frame to -1.5 stops, the rest of the parameter are constant.

I can see exposure value have changed after apply deflicker, but the render clip still showing flickering very badly.

Tried with different value of avg smooth and strength, but the flickering is still there.

Not sure what have I miss out and hope able to get some help here.

Thank you.

Hi, the result is cetrainly not as it should be.
Please consider the tips for deflickering I gave here
http://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-how-...red-curves
and here:
http://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-i-tr...flickering

It seems you processed the images a lot, so it might be necessary to make a two step deflickering because LRTimelapse normally calculates deflicker based on the unprocessed previews:

It might be advisable to start over with a fresh initialization of the sequence to get rid of the old deflickering.

Thanks for your speedy reply.
only the first version I do apply some processing on it, but notice I couldn't take away the flickering, I re-initialise to remove all the procession, only apply -1.5 stops on last frame and the rest of the parameters consider untouched.

I will re-read the sticky threads and start from fresh again, see how is the outcome.

Thanks very much.

I tried the two pass processing method, the first pass is processing the transition of white balance, exposure, contrast, graduated filter and some deflickering,
export a set of jpg without metadate, (name as 1st pass jpg)
open the 1st pass jpg in LRtimelapse, no adjustment but only apply deflicker, save the XMP.
open the 1st pass jpg in Lightroom 4, read the metadata from files, export a new set jpg (name it as 2nd pass jpg),
open the set of 2nd pass jpg in quick time pro to export a MOV file.

here is the final result (from 2nd pass jpg), after 6th attempt apply deflicker in LRtimelapse, each time I have to reset the 1st pass jpg, tried with different setting on avg setting and strength, the 7th attempt is with default setting, avg setting 10 and strength 10.

I follow the suggestions given on the sticky thread, but the results is still far from ideal, not sure what have I miss out?

Hi, would you mind sending me your sequence so that I could give it a try?
