Just wanted to know if the snap shot from version 1,8 MacOS are saved in the file directory or in the xmp or elsewhere so i can be sure to be able to backup them with the pic sequence

Not sure about MAC but in Windows its saved in a sub-directory in the previews folder called stubs. Look for the "stubs" folder and you will find all your previews and snapshots to backup. I'm pretty sure its the same on the MAC.
