I have used LRTimelapse several years ago and am looking to buying it again as I'm trying to get back into timelapse photography.
The only problem is that it seems that it requires Adobe software to work. As you may know, many people are bailing from Adobe because of the
predatory nature of their licensing and extremely high cost with the subscription model.

Is there a way to use LRTimelapse with darktable or other non Adobe alternatives so that folks, like myself that has left Adobe behind, can
still purchase LRTimelapse and make use of it?

on1 is also a great non Adobe alternative that does many of the bulk editing as Lightroom. You can buy On1 outright for $85.

LRTimelapse 7 runs standalone (without Lightroom) as an option. Check out the tutorial about the internal workflow: https://lrtimelapse.com/tutorial/basic

Apart from that, Lightroom Classic is a great software which is absolutely worth the money. If you are smart, you can get the Photographers Subscription which includes Lightroom Classic and Photoshop for as little as 75 bucks a year. Just check Amzon on Prime Days, you can "charge up" your subscription there for one or more years.
I've tried a lot of Raw converters over the years, Adobe's just delivers the best results and offers the necessary interfaces for LRTimelapse.

Of course, whether you use Lightroom or not, is up to you. LRTimelapse doesn't require you to do so. With the internal editor, you can already do a lot.
