after effects and jpg xmp ?

hello everyone,

here is my question:
can AE cs5 read XMP´s in JPG sequences?

(the changes are shown in BRIDGE, but not in AFTER EFFECTS)

I did a lot of research but...it won´t work!
- ADOBE says it supposed to do so!?

Adobe says so?? No, as far as I know, After Effects (even CS6) does not read XMP for JPG sequences (even if they are embedded). Unfortunately.

I recommend shooting RAW anyway.

One thing you could test: convert the JPG's to DNG - maybe that will trick AE out - though I never testet it - if it works, please let me know!

hey Gunther,

check this out, (that´s what Adobe made me understand)...
AE and XMP import, (sry, it´s in german)

...Importieren von Dateien mit XMP-Metadaten in After Effects... (!?!)

.."After Effects kann XMP-Metadaten u. a. aus folgenden Formaten importieren:
Kameraformate: AVCHD, HDV, P2, XDCAM, XDCAM EX
Bildformate: GIF, JPEG, PNG, PostScript, TIFF"... ( adobe.com)

I´ve downloaded the Adobe DNG Converter...
"actually you can´t convert JPG to DNG with it"(so far my testing)...
...but I´m on that theme...

(and I totally agree, shooting in RAW saves a lot of time and trouble!!!!!)

greetings...
