Get high quality timelapse with SAMRTPHONE CAMERA!!!

Hi all,

For the last few month I have been experimenting a lot with Timelapse produced by smartphones and found that with the right tools its possible to get really good results that can be used as B-roll shoots (well, as long as you don't require 8k...), YouTube, ......
So now i always have a little tripod and mobile gimbal with me, so i can't miss any good opportunity anymore Smile

I made a Blog about my method of how to get the best quality timelapse out of your phone with sample footage of some forest timelapses i made using this method comparing to the regular (and not very useful) timelapse mode of the camera app.

A link to the blog.:

A link to sample footage (unfortunatly Google compresses the viewer version quite a bit, feel free to download it and see the proper version):

I hope you will give it a try and let me know what you think.

Especially when shooting directly in the sun, smartphones always fail.
The sun looks washed out and there are many unattractive lens flares. You can see that very nicely in your video.

I agree, shooting into the sun is always difficult on small sensors and lensflare will always be more problematic.
Personally, I do not mind lensflare if its not too pronounced and there all the time. It can be toned down in post.

For the samples i on purpose chose a very high contrast scene with difficult shooting conditions, but still the result is quite worthwhile in my opinion.

Try the described method in not so challening situations and the results will be very good.
I would encourage you to give it a try and let me know how it went Smile
