How to force a dragged shutter?

Offline

SUPER simple question—for which I can’t seem to find an answer here or over on the QDSLR forum or elsewhere.
How do I force a fixed/specific shutter speed using the LRTimelapse feature on qDSLRDashboard?
i.e I want drag my shutter for better motion blur.
I’m using an Android tablet, driving a Z7.
Everything works great…except that in my sequences, ISO and shutter speed are floating, with a fixed Fstop.
I’d like ISO -only- to float (or at worst, ISO and Fstop to float)…. but shutter speed fixed, in any case.
What’s the solution?
It’s probably right under my noseSmile
thanks…

If you set the Exposure (Shutter) to 2 Sec. on you camera and for a Sunset the Max Exposure to 2 Sec., then now Exposure Ramping will happen, only ISO Ramping. That's how you can achieve this.
But usually that's not feasible because with ISO alone, you won't be able to do a proper holy grail, the range is too small. That's why you will usually need the Shutter speed ramping additionally, even if you will have to sacrifice the long exposure times at some point. This is still better then ramping the Aperture, which might introduce additional problems with changing vignetting and depth of field.

perfect solution, gunther. i appreciate your replying so quickly. and yes, i’d prefer -not- to change aperture during a timelapse to avoid inevitable (small) aperture-induced frame-to-frame flicker, or vignetting, etc. (DOF is not really an issue for me.) and yes, i gotcha… the luminance range from dark>day is too great for ISO alone to handle. thank very much for your suggestion…and…especially for an absolutely outstanding piece of SW in LRTimelapse… and your 5-star video tutorials! your work and your instructional materials are extremely impressiveSmile next up: i’m planning to get your intervalometer and crossgrade from private to pro. major thanks!
