LRTimelapse 7 uses small (DNG) proxies to speed up visual preview creation. This often increases the overall speed for visual preview generation and deflicker by a factor of 2 or 3.
However, for heavily edited sequence, like very dark sequences that have been heavily pushed when editing, the visual appearance of the compressed proxies after editing might differ from the actual appearance if the same edits are being applied to the original raw files for the video generation. Since the deflicker works on the proxies by default, in such cases deflicker might have deflickered the proxies perfectly, but not the final results.
In 95% of all sequences, you won't see any differences and only take profit of the faster editing with the proxies. But there might be those rare cases where you run into such issues and would like to turn the proxy using off.
That's why LRTimelapse 7.1 (currently in beta) brings an option to turn off proxy usage for a specific sequence. You'll find a toggle button in the toolbar above the table. Once turned off, LRT will remember this setting for that specific sequence. If you want to turn off proxy usage by default, you'll find a setting in the expert settings.
Should you ever run into such an issue, that your exported video flickers although the pink luminance curve after deflicker looks smooth, this is what you can do:
Just click on the "Use Proxies" toggle button above the table. LRT will now recreate the visual previews and you should see bumps in the pink luminance curve that have not been there before. Now do another deflicker (best do a multipass with 3-5 passes) until the pink curve is smooth again.
Now export and render and your rendered sequence should look as smooth as the preview.
