Hi, I'm just starting out with LRTimelapse, really impressed so far
Question: When I first import my frames into Lightroom, the software then spends some time creating Smart Previews! I only have the free version so far so only working with 400 frames but this can still take 10-15 mins. so when I progress to larger sequences this will only become longer.
While i can carry on working in LRTimelapse while this is going on in the background, it does slow things down quite a bit.

Does LRTimelapse need these Smart previews to function properly or could I disable them in lightroom?

No, you can just turn the preview generation in LR off.
