LRTimelapse 5.4 (2020-03-10) .exe won't start, .cmd is OK

Hello,
I have just upgraded to version 5.4 of LRT. Installation seems OK, until I'm asked if I want to launch LRT. Nothing happens.
I have uninstalled my other java installs.

I discovered that I can click on the LRTimelapse.cmd and the program starts as normal. When I click on LRTimelapse5.exe nothing happens.

Can this be solved?

Thank you!

Regards,
Marek

Have you checked your virus scanner, maybe it is blocking the exe.

yes, I'm not using any virus scanners. Everything worked fine before update.

Here my lrtimelapse.log. Will this help?

By default Windows 10 uses the Windows Defender as Virus Scanner, so normally that would be activated if you didn't deactivate it (which is not recommendable). Anyway: if it's running, please add the LRTimelapse folder to the exceptions list, just to make sure.

Another thing to try would be to close LRT, check Task Manager that no instances of LRTimelapse and ExifTool are running. Then delete C:\Users\Marek\AppData\Roaming\LRTimelapse\user.props and then start LRTimelapse again via the exe.

Is there any reason you didn't install LRTimelapse into the default folder (C:\Program Files\LRTimelapse 5) - I'd recommend to uninstall it and then try doing that, if the othere this don't help. Again, delete the user.props file before reinstalling it.

There was a simple solution to my problem. I had to reboot the computer and now clicking on .exe works. C:\ is my SSD windows/temp disk. I prefer to have programs on D:\
Thank you! :-)
