Has there been any updates on using LRTimelapse on the Apple M1 CPUs? I saw earlier this year that it was working on them using the Rosetta emulation. Has there been any progress in porting it to running natively on the M1s?

It runs perfectly on M1 as it is. I'm depending on external tools - it in order to have a fully native version, all tools need to be ready for that.
But to be honest, it runs so well currently, I don't see a big point or advantage in changing anything.

it certainly seems to run flawlessly on my M1 Mini.
