Just got this popup when running 5.5.7 for the first time. Never seen it before, even with bigger sequences.
The popup has a link to a 2012 post that doesn't help me what to do.

Which popup do yo get? Can you please attach a screenshot and also post your log file (info menu / show log).

I didn't take a snapshot of the popup window, unfortunately.
I'll upgrade to 5.5.8 now and see if it happens again.

Everything looks good in that log.
Maybe, you lauched many big programs after launching LRTimelapse, then maybe that was the reason for the out of memory error. Let me know, if it happens again.

I will. I can say that it was java related. Is there a place to edit java memory settings somewhere?

No, it's not required. LRTimelapse will automatically detect the amount of memory available at launch and adjust its settings automatically.
