You can easily replace it by yourself. You can find a replacement at amazon. Just make sure it got the same dimensions and specifications. How to open the timer you can find here: https://lrtimelapse.com/lrtpt/faq/ under "RTC NOT Running"

I ordered the exact same battery on Eckstein's website.
I'll let you know if I have issues when putting the new battery in place.
My concern is that a very small piece dropped from the device when opening it, rolled on the floor, and I didn't found it yet . Do you see which component it could be ?

I have no idea... Just put it together again and see if everything works.

That's possible, but a rare chance. We only put one of those in a 1000 units... ;-)
