This may be a late reply, so I'm sure you have figured it out, but your Android device 9going the USB OTG route) connects to your Nikon camera via the mini USB connection on your camera.

The Intervalometer connects to your Nikon Camera via the specialised connection on your camera - so there is a dedicated connection port for each device.

Is there a possibilty to connect an intervalometer like my Pixel Timer AND my Android device with DSLRDashboard to my Nikon D5200?

Are there any drawbacks if I use the DSLRDashboard for both tasks, setting up the interval exposure and adapting exposure settings in the LRT menu?
I would suggest to use an external intervalometer like the pixel for triggering the camera and DslrDashboard for adjusting the settings. That will give you more stability.

Okay. Is it normal that I must increase the interval to about 3 seconds? If I go under 3 seconds, my camera is missing some triggered shots while transferring a *.jpg to my tablet.

BTW: Great photography blog, great ebook and great software. Just bought a licence yesterday - highly recommended!
