Yeah, that 'panning' thing was strange to me.
Here's an original image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/s2wzkbl3ij3u467/IMG_9518.CR2?dl=0
Here's the exif for that image (attached).
cheers.

Attached EXIF says Focus Mode One Shot AF

Dang. That's whacky. So revealing about being careful with 'preflight' check lists. But in your experience do you think this is why the Timelapse is drifting as it is? (and thanks again).

But somehow append EXIF and RAW don't match...

I would export two more images with Canon's DPP and compare them (with the greatest possible change).

Thanks. I'm not quite sure what you mean by the 'greatest possible change'. Do you mean two images that are as different from each other as possible? (I haven't used DPP before but can check it out -- I assume you mean to export two CR2 files, but in what format to export them? (sorry for basic questions).

RE: slight frame movement or 'drift' in Timelapse render - c_joerg - 2022-08-04

Simply compare two JPGs where the deviation is the greatest. If you have the JPGs anyway, you don't need to use a DPP.

In principle, it can be due to the AF. But I don't see any AF in the EXIF of the CR2. Only in your attachment.

Please make also the video available.

Here's the first part of the Timelapse. Note it's not easy to say (but becomes very visible when I added static text on top of the video). If you look closely where the treeline meets the sky on the right side of the video you'll see the movement:

I'll take a look at some jpgs.

Now that I've seen the video, I'd say it's the wind...

Wow. That's surprising. I assume that the LRTimelapse smoothing feature gives it the soupy-smooth feeling.
Thanks so much for your help.
