Floating through Time - DeejayMD - 2011-03-18 This is my first attempt using a DSLR to shoot Timelapse. I snatched my sisters Canon 450D and borrowed a Kessler Cineslider from a friend. I never had any experiences with DSLR´s before, but i always was fascinated viewing time lapses online. So i decided to do it myself! I learned allot during 2 months of shooting (the weather was terrible most of the time), but i still have to learn more. LRTimelapse helped me allot! Deflicker did a good job. The possibility to do a transition in WB and Exposure is awsesome. Most of the shoots were taken with the kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm f3.5), except the illuminated city at the end of the clip. This was taken with the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8., and i love it. Unfortunately, my district is very boring (Hamburg/Germany). No mountains, light pollution preventing me to shoot many stars and it was very cold. Next time i will start to teach myself a new technique during Summer! Standing 3-4 hours at a low temperature (-10°C/14F) freezes my tails off! Enjoy the video and don`t forget to rate and comment! Or were they animations from Cinema 4d/after effects? Alan RE: Floating through Time - DeejayMD - 2011-03-18 The fireworks wre shot with an EX1 a year ago at the port of Hamburg. It`s a composition made in After Effects, combining a time lapse sequence with the fireworks. RE: Floating through Time - cny_ap - 2011-03-18 Wow, that's great. Looks like you had some method of turning (yaw) the camera and also panning it? RE: Floating through Time - Joachim Buambeki - 2011-03-18 Man, some of the sequences are awesome! How did you create the 3:21 sequence, is it CGI? The camera move seems to be impossible. I would love to hear about your postprocessing. Best Regards David RE: Floating through Time - DeejayMD - 2011-03-19 The Camera move above the city was done in post. It was a mixture between zooming, panning and corner pin http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorial/animating_a_still/ Read the description on Vimeo.
