1.52. Memory Problem?

Offline
#1 frame_michael
Hi,
i am using LRT 1.5.2 (PC) on a Windows 7 64bit environment.
All my preview files are created correctly with the new built but when I try
to save my deflickered Raw files the system hangs in the middle of saving the data back.

It doesn't save all the xml's - only a portion of the files (the first 100)

So there is also no confirmation screen as it hangs in the middle of the save.

May it have something to do with a memory problem?
LRT says Mem total 1450 (Max 1450) Mem free: 1206
but I do have 16GB Memory?

As a workaround I can select around 100 pictures and click on save - which does the job. But I thinks this worked before as it should.

My Log File says only:
[2011-09-23 16:35:18] INFO: LR-Timelapse 1.5.2 (2011-08-31)

Hi Michael,
that doesn't look like a memory issue. It doesn't matter that your System has more RAM, LRTimelapse shows the max ram reserved to the Java Virtual Machine. And there is plenty of ram left.

Please try re-initializing the metadata for your files (Select all images in LRTimelapse, Right Mouse: Metadata -> Initialize.) Than try saving, if that works you can continue the workflow in Lightroom (read Metadata there, make your changes, save, return to LRTimelapse).

Hi,
initializing allows me to save all my 247 files.
But if i choose deflicker afterwards (no Lightroom step in between) and try to save
my Metadata again it hangs at around 100 pictures like before.

That's weird. I cannot reproduce it here neither have I heard of such a case before.
Does that happen on other timelapse sequences as well?

(please note, that LRTimelapse only save changed images (red marker on the left of the table) so not always all images must be saved...

I have tested it again on 610 TL images.
New XMPs from Lightroom (with LRT Preset) etc.

So i import them into LRT - it creates the previews. Without changing anything - saving is possible.

After animating 2 keyframes and or using the deflicker i try to press save - it hangs while saving the xmp (this time after 351 images).
I check the xmp's by the timestamp.

Update:

I copied my LRTimelapse Folder to another computer (Win7 64bit also)
and after manually creating the .lrtimelapse folder was able to use LRTimelapse as
before. (Saving my edited files in LRT)

So the question to me is - why is the same LRTimelapse not working on my other
computer?
Can I check the Java Runtime - what could be different there?

many thanks
Michael

I would really like to know what the problem is. Please make sure that you have installed the newest Java JRE and the appropriate one for your OS (x86 vs. 64bit).

On the JRE website it says if you browse with 32bit Browsers and 64bit Browsers on a 64 bit System you should install both - 32 and 64 bit JRE.

Is that ok for LRTimelapse?

LRTimelapse has nothing to do with the browser-plugin, it only needs the JRE. I would recommend only installing 64bit on a 64bit system (i've never had any problems with that).

Komischerweise läuft auf meinem anderen 64bit Rechner auch die 32bit JRE 6.026.
Und dort ist speichern möglich.
Ich habe jetzt JRE 6.027 64bit installiert aber leider keine Änderung des Problems.
