Little update on "Export Timestamp Subtitles"

Offline
#1 fsbraga
Hi Gunther, hope you are fine.

First I´d like to congratulate you for your amazing software and work. Love it!

If I may, I would like to talk about the "Export Timestamp Subtitles". I use it a lot. The problem is that in Capcut it can´t directly use it since it has a lot of lines on the file. So I always have to open the timestamp files and manually edit it. What I mainly do is to remove the lines that uses the exact same date/time and change the frames that it is related.

I think that in this way you could probably use the file directly in a lot of video editors (not only on Premiere). So it is my only sugestion.

Anyway, congrats again! Amazing software! You just managed to make this new version is even better!

Fernando.

P.S. To better explain it, please take a look at the example below:

In LRTimelapse 7.2 beta 2 you can change a setting in the config which would allow you to have less entries in the SRT file. See: https://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-lrt...7-2-beta-2

From the release notes:
Quote:Added setting to config "renderTimeStampEveryNthFrame", default is 1.0, which means the timestamps are written into SRT files for every single frame. If you would like every 2nd, set 2.0 here etc. Setting the value to -1 will create the timestamp every second (considers the fps rate).

To edit the config:
- Launch LRTimelapse
- Hit Ctrl-Shift-E (on mac CMD-Shift-E), this will open an editor with the config.
- Close LRTimelapse (before editing the config).
- Edit the config, in your case change the value after: renderTimeStampEveryNthFrame to -1.
- Save the config
- Launch LRTimelapse.

let me know if that serves you.

Thank you very much Gunther! I still need to edit the srt but it is much easier now! To reduce the size of entries I usually use around 5 (depends on the timelapses). The editing still has to be done because the same caption has the duration of the frames that I specified (in this case 5 frames). If I don´t edit it, it will be flashing during playback (because it only has a duration of 1 frame no matter the value I specified. Anyway. Thank you very much!

Could you elaborate a bit more, what change you would need to not have to edit? Best paste to examples, 1. how it is now and 2. how you would need it. Maybe I can change that too!

Hi Gunther!

Sure! Let me try to better explain it. Supose that I´m using renderTimeStampEveryNthFrame = 5.0

The original generated file will be like this:
-------------------------------------------
1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:00,033
2024-12-15 16:04

2
00:00:00,166 --> 00:00:00,199
2024-12-15 16:04

3
00:00:00,333 --> 00:00:00,366
2024-12-15 16:05

4
00:00:00,499 --> 00:00:00,533
2024-12-15 16:05

5
00:00:00,666 --> 00:00:00,699
2024-12-15 16:06

6
00:00:00,833 --> 00:00:00,866
2024-12-15 16:06

(...)

-------------------------------------------
The changed file is like this:
1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:00,166
2024-12-15 16:04

2
00:00:00,166 --> 00:00:00,333
2024-12-15 16:04

3
00:00:00,333 --> 00:00:00,499
2024-12-15 16:05

4
00:00:00,499 --> 00:00:00,666
2024-12-15 16:05

5
00:00:00,666 --> 00:00:00,833
2024-12-15 16:06

6
00:00:00,833 --> 00:00:00,866
2024-12-15 16:06

(...)

-------------------------------------------

Notice that I have to change the end of each step to the same value of the start of the next step (because the subtitle should be in every frame of the video).

What I was asking first, which would be even better then setting a specific value for the parameter, was that when you use renderTimeStampEveryNthFrame = -1 (automatic value), the timestamp wouldn´t repeat itself. In this case, it would be like this:

-------------------------------------------
1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:00,333
2024-12-15 16:04

2
00:00:00,333 --> 00:00:00,666
2024-12-15 16:05

3
00:00:00,666 --> 00:00:00,866
2024-12-15 16:06

(...)
-------------------------------------------

This feature would be really cool because in many cases, timelapses with very short intervals (1") ends up generating many repeated lines of subtitles. But the content of the subtitle is always a timestamp (date, hour and minute). So, every minute you will have 60 lines with the same content, when in fact 1 line would be enough. With this feature, in practice, I would always use renderTimeStampEveryNthFrame=-1.

Thank you very much for your attention, and congrats again for this simple amazing software!
