I was trying to charge my Timer and it does not seem to work. Each time I turn it on I get this scroll across the top.

The LRT Pro Timer Free documentation doesn't mention anything about a button cell or real time clock. Is this something new?

IMHO the commercial LRTProTimer 2.5 got nothing to do with the Protimer Free. Completely different hardware. I think the TO just posted in the wrong section.
