What a beautiful mountain! TImelapse turned out well too. In this case, since you didn't go until the stars, you could easily have shot with an ND8 or even ND64 until the end and would have taken profit of the longer exposure times which would have blurred the water and created a nice motion blur in the clouds. Just remember for the next time - plan you end, and if you are in Urban areas with artificial lights or you plan to shoot until end of dusk only (no real darkness), you could use a medium filter.
