Anyway we can select photos only from a specific time of day - for instance a Time Lapse done over 12months and we only want the photos taken between 9am and 2pm?

In the commercial version you have the feature to "select by ciriteria". There you can set a bandwith of the brightness of the images to just cut off dark subsequences or bright subsequences etc. This is a special feature meant for the kind of time lapse work you are doing.
