Timelapse Motion Slider ( Very long)

Offline

Hey guys and girls!

I am fascinated with Timelapse photography and have decided to invest a lot of my time for it.

My dream is to make many indoor and outdoor timelapse videos using as few resources as possible.

My idea was to build a long slider, that will allow me to capture more than one object with one camera.

I have built a 2 meter long rails that as a platform with wheels, that allows platform to say on the rails.

I use Nema 23 Stepper motor to divide the steps into 16 micro steps.

Belt is used to get platform in motion from right to left, or left to right.

I have Arduino uno, that controlls motor and camera.

Has anyone created something like that before?

My sequens of operations curently is as follows :

Platform with camera is at Position 1, Camera gets triggered
Platform with camera moves to Position 2, camera gets triggered
Platform with camera moves to position 3, camera gets triggered
Long interval based on what i capture.

My problem is that my camera doesnt move to the same exact position everytime,
And in the end i get vibrations in my video.

Has anyone built something like that and could share some thoughts on how they were able to build it?

Thank you.

There are a couple of users that already built self made solutions for motion control, just use the search feature here in the forum. For example: https://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-diy-slider-dolly
